Get Right. Two words that carry quite a punch. At East Brent we believe that man’s greatest need is to have his relationship with God restored. We are born dead in sin. No matter how hard you might try, no matter how moral your life may be, on our best day, we are sinners. Our sin separates us from God and leaves us hopeless and eternally condemned. The only remedy for our despair is a plan created by God himself. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in should not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 is God’s exclamation of hope for a broken world lost in despair. Our prayer for you is that you understand and assess God’s offer of redemption in Christ. I pray that God’s Spirit will convict you of your inadequacy and gloriously reveal himself to you as the resurrected King of Kings. To Get Right is to fully surrender and relinquish all control of your life. To Get Right is to be made new through faith in Jesus Christ. To Get Right is to be granted a new identity. To Get Right is to be gloriously and eternally saved. At East Brent we are praying that you Get Right with God through faith in Jesus Christ.
Get in
Get In. God never intended the Christian life to be lived alone. Our salvation gives us the privilege of living life with a community of other believers. This fact is not up for debate for anyone living under the Lordship of Jesus and the authority of the Bible. The Great Commission can only be carried out by the church living together on mission for a purpose greater than any individual. The Great Commission is not an optional program for the people of God, it is our marching orders. You were bought with a price. You were uniquely designed to be part of the body. Your gifting is distinct to you and your gifting is to be used for the building up of the church so that she can maximally impact the world for Christ’s Kingdom. In order to live the Christian life Biblically, we must live it in community. When you aren’t plugged in and active within the body God has called you to, the body suffers. You are vital to the full functionality of the Church. The Church is not an institution. The Church is a living organism, the very Bride of Christ. We are a family. Get In and serve. Get In and commit to your church. Get In and sacrifice. Get In and Love your family. Get Right with God through faith in Jesus. Get In the church and live life with Christ’s Bride.
Get out
Get Out. What exactly do these two words imply? On the surface some might find a somewhat negative connotation surrounding them. As we dig deeper and discover God’s plan for his body we find that our faith is not to be hid under the bushel of a building. The Church is not where you go on Sunday. The Church is God’s people living for his purposes and his glory. For far too long, we have been satisfied to define faith by attendance on Sunday morning. This is not living to fulfill the Great Commission. The Church gathers on Sunday morning to worship, edify, build up, encourage, admonish, and strategize so that she might Get Out and do what she is called to do. We are ambassadors for Christ’s Kingdom. That responsibility and privilege is something none of us deserve and something all of us are called to display. You weren’t saved simply to give you an access card to swipe when you die. You were saved to manifest the very Glory of God in your life and represent his Gospel to a world broken. God so loved the world that he gave his only son. You are tasked to tell that story. Get Out and do what God has called you to do. Get Out and witness of his redemption story. Get Out and tell the story of Jesus. Get Right with God through faith in Jesus. Get In the church and live life with Christ’s Bride. Get Out and fulfill the Great Commission. He is coming soon.
